Today, about reunion.

I don’t know about other countries, but in Japan, reunion party is held at hotel restaurants.

Many people try to be cool, because it’s party and they meet with friends that they hadn’t met in a while.

縁の下の力持ち、芯地について本日はご紹介致します。

そもそも、芯地とは？と思われた方もいらっしゃるでしょう。

芯地とは、
スーツの表地と裏地の間に入っているものを言います。

見えないところですのであまり気にしない方が多いと思いますが、
この芯地、とてもスーツでとても大きな役割を果たしているのです。

芯地によってスーツの着心地や耐久性、
また、シルエットも変わってしまいます。

見えない部分ですので、既製服などでは手抜きされやすい部分でございます。

“芯地が衣類に必要な理由は下記5点にまとめられる。”
1.着用による型崩れを防ぐための寸法や形態を安定するため
2.衣服のシルエットを形成するため
3.表地の必要な部分にハリやコシをもたせるため
4.部分的に厚さや硬さを与えて衣服に重厚感をもたせるため
5.縫製時に歪みを防ぐため

上のように、芯地はスーツでとても重要なパートでございます。

スーツの芯地は毛芯と接着芯がありますが、Tailortでは毛芯を使用しております。

 

何が違うのかといいますと、

接着芯は簡単に貼り付けることができますが、明らかに着心地と耐久性が毛芯と比べると劣っております。

毛芯は着心地と耐久性も優れておりますが、コストがかかってしまいます。

Hello, I’m going to tell you about the part of suits that we cannot see, I mean inside of a suit.

It is “interlining”.

You have the question what interlining is? It is the pad between the face side fabric and the lining fabric.

This is really important to be comfortable and durable wear, and also, it changes the silhouette.

There is two kindｓ of interlining; haircloth and adhesive interlining.

Differences between these two are durability and cost.

And of cause, we are using haircloth interlining.

Hair cloth interlining is excellent in durability even if it’s expensive.

We are particular about individual parts.

では左上から、

レギュラーカラー

レギュラーカラーはどのシーンもお使いいただける襟です。

ビジネスでもフォーマルでもお使いいただける場所の選ばない襟です。

 

セミワイドカラー

こちらの襟は着用していただくと分かると思いますが、首まわりがスッキリして見えるデザインでございます。

レギュラーカラーだと首まわりが閉まって堅苦しい印象となってしまうとお困りの方にお勧めです。

 

ボタンダウンカラー

ボタンが二つついている襟です。襟の中でも一番カジュアルに見える襟です。

ネクタイを着用しないスタイルが一番似合う襟です。

 

ナロウカラー

こちらの襟は顔を細く見せる効果があります。

太り気味でお悩みの方はナロウカラーを選択されるとスッキリした印象となります。

 

ホリゾンタルカラー

襟がより水平に見えるように作られた襟です。こちらのシャツはネクタイの結び目が大きく見えるようつくられたものですので、

ネクタイと一緒の着用をお勧め致します。

 

From the upper left collar,

This is the classic straight point collar(regular collar)

You can wear this at anywhere; business, formal, party, etc.

 

The upper right collar

This is the medium spread collar(semi-wide collar)

This collar makes your neck slim appearance.

 

The lower left collar,

This is the button down point collar(button-down collar)

This is seen on more casual shirt, and is the best shirt collar without a tie.

 

The lower center collar,

This is the narrow straight point collar(narrow collar)

This help you to show your face more slim.

If you want to show more slim, I suggest you to choose this.

 

The lower right collar,

This is the cutaway collar(horizontal collar)

This is designed to be worn with a large tie knot, so I suggest you to wear with a tie.

ポケットチーフの選び方と使い方をお教えします。

I’m going to tell you the way of choosing and using handkerchiefs.

 

まずは素材について

リネンは昼のみの使用をお勧めいたします。

シルクは昼も夜も使用可能です。

 

First of all, I tell you about materials.

Silk chiefs are suitable for daytime and nighttime, but I suggest you to use linen chiefs in the daytime.

 

シーンによってお勧めの使い方を紹介いたします。

Next, suggestion of use by scenes.

 

-ビジネスシーンにお勧めなのは

TVホールドとトライアングラーという畳み方です。

TVホールドはポケットから四角くチーフが見える畳み方、

トライアングラーは三角に見える畳み方です。

上二つは折るのが簡単な上、幅広く使用でき、ビジネスシーンのみならずフォーマルやパーティーでの使用も可能です。

-For the Business

I suggest the TV fold and the triangle fold.

These are folding to show a handkerchief as square and triangle.

You can use these at the formal party too.

 

-カジュアルやパーティーにお勧めなのは

パフとクラッシュという畳み方です。

パフはハンカチの中心を持ちふわっとさせた状態の畳み方、

クラッシュはその反対のパフを逆さにしてポケットへ入れます。

-For the casual and party

I suggest to use the puff and the crushed.

To make the puff, we pick the center of the chief softly and show the picked part out of the pocket.

The crushed is the way to show chief turning upside down.

 

-フォーマルなパーティーや華やかな場で活躍するのは

スリーピークスという畳み方です。

三角に三回折った頂点をずらしポケットへいれます。

-For the formal party

I suggest the three point fold.

Folding a chief three times and move these tops that are not overlapped.

 

このように様々な畳み方と使い方がございます。

ご自身で独自の見せ方を開発されるのも楽しいかもしれませんね。

2Fは主にカジュアルウェアやカジュアル小物を置いております。

At 2^nd F, we have casual wears and goods (ties, hats, socks, etc.) imported from Japan.

こんにちは

現在皆さんが着用されているスーツ

素材やデザインは様々ですが、

ほとんどの仕様は同じはずです。

昔から愛されてきたスーツは機能性あり、すべてのパーツに理由があるのです。

前回ご紹介した襟のホール”ラペルホール”にも理由がありましたね。

 

本日は、ジャケットのポケットについている蓋”フラップ”について

 

もうご存知の方も多いと思います。

 

フラップは昔、雨除けとして使われておりました。

雨がポケットの中まで入り込まないよう蓋をするためです。

フラップですが、現在はポケットの中が雨にぬれてしまうような心配もないので、出しても閉まってもどちらでも良いです。

統一感だけは注意しましょう。フラップの付いているポケットは二つありますが、出すか、しまうかどちらかにしましょう。

フォーマルなスーツにはフラップがついておりません。

ですので、ビジネスシーンでは出して、パーティーでは出すのも良いかもしれないですね。

Suits have many details and most parts have the meaning or origins.

I told you the story about “the lapel hole” in previous article.

In this time, I will explain about”flaps” which is in the jacket’s pockets.

This used to use as a protection inside pockets against a rain.

As you know, we don’t use these as a protection, so don’t need care about the use.

However, you should be careful about the appearance.

If the right flap is outside and the left flap is inside, you looks untidy.

So you should pay attention both flaps inside or outside.

Anyway, formal suits have no flaps; so, I suggest you to put flaps outside for a business and inside for a party.

本日は選びやすい2色(ネイビーブルーとグレー)のスーツに合うコーディネートをご紹介致します。

I picked two colored suit fabric, and I would show you recommendation of color coordinate of shirts and ties.

 

ネイビーブルーは上品で知的なイメージに仕上がるのでビジネススーツにお勧めの色でございます。

また、日本人の肌にとてもよく合う色ですので人気があります。

そんなネイビーのスーツ生地にあうシャツやネクタイの色はパステルカラー！

Navy-blue color suits the business scenes because this color show you as intelligent and elegant.

I recommend you to choose the pastel colored shirts or ties.

上のコーディネートはビジネス用に落ち着いた雰囲気で合わせました。

パステルイエローのシャツにコントラストのはっきりしたブルーのネクタイは無難で統一感のあるスタイルに仕上がります。

身体にフィットしたスーツをお作りいただくと、誰からも頼られるビジネスマンに見えること間違いなしです。

I chose a yellow shirt and a tie patterned contrasted blue and white line for the navy suit.

If you choose these color and dress a just sized suit, you would be looked as a succeeded businessman!

 

 

二つ目はグレーです。

今回チョイスした生地は日本の織元である葛利毛織社のDominxのチャコールグレーです。

濃いグレーも日本人の肌に合わせやすく、こちらもビジネスにぴったりです。

グレーはネクタイやシャツの組み合わせにより幅広くおしゃれを楽しむことのできるカラーです。

こちらは白いシャツにコントラストの強い同系色の入ったネクタイを合わせると真面目なビジネスマンのイメージに仕上がります。

The second is the gray color.

I chose the charcoal gray colored fabric of Dominx made in Japan.

Gray is useful color to enjoy the combination with shirts and ties because it shows you differently as your choice.

If you choose a white shirt and tie with some contrasted color show you as a sincere businessman.

ホワイトのシャツに茶色のラインの入ったネクタイを合わせたコーディネートです。

 

今回ご紹介した2つはどちらも落ち着いた表現が出来る組み合わせでございます。

-1つボタン

前身頃の空きが大きいので、全体が細身に見えるようなシルエットが特徴です。

ドレッシーなイメージに仕上がるのでパーティーシーンにはオススメですが、ビジネスシーンではオススメできません。

着こなし：ボタンは閉めて着用します

-One Button

It could be looks like slim and dressy.

So,it suits for the party, not for the business.

How to wear: close a button

 

-2つボタン

多くの方がお選びいただくのではないでしょうか？2ボタンはビジネスシーンに向いております。

シャープなイメージに仕上がり、若者に人気でございます。

着こなし：上ボタンのみ閉めて、下は開けます

-Two Buttons

As many people order this type, this suits for the business.

It gives you an impression of sophisticated.

How to wear: close the upper button and open the lower one.

 

-3つボタン

学生服のブレザーにも良く使用される3つボタン、優等生イメージに仕上がります。

無難で、まじめを求める方はオススメです。

着こなし：上二つのボタンを閉め、一番下のボタンは開けます

-Three Buttons

It used as school uniforms in Japan.

It gives you impression of honest and prize pupil.

How to wear: close two upper two buttons and open the lowest button

 

-3つボタン段返り（3つボタン）

3つボタンにはもう一つございます。一番上のボタンが折り曲げてある段返りでございます。

こちらもビジネスにオススメで、イタリア発祥と言われております。

着こなし：真ん中のボタンのみ閉めます

-Three Buttons (lapel should roll down to the second)

This is the another type of three buttons. The lapel rolled down to the second button.

It is for the business, the birthplace in Italy.

How to wear: close only the second button

 

 

-ダブルボタン

ダブルボタンはカジュアルなイメージに仕上がりますが、

前身頃に迫力があるので重厚感があり、年配の方に人気がございます。

また、お腹周りが気になる方にオススメでございます。

着こなし：一番下のボタン以外は閉めます

-Double Breasted

This gives you the impression of appealed strongly, like punch.

This is popular from elderly person; and also, it could help you to cover waist.

How to wear: all buttons are closed except the lowest  one
